Teacher Development Symposium

Date: Saturday 23rd January 2027

Place: Online

   Call for Presentation Proposals

Teachers attending the Teacher Development Symposium will come away with knowledge, activities, skills and awareness that can aid them in their teaching practice. Presentations proposals should, ideally, offer support to these ends.

The Teacher Development Symposium at NUFS welcomes two types of proposal:

Short Research Presentation (25 minutes)

These presentations showcase research into areas closely connected to the profession of language teaching. Ideally, presentations will allow for a short time at the end of the presentation for questions and comments.

Practice-oriented Presentation or Workshop (25 minutes or 1 hour)

These sessions are focused more on expanding the toolkit of practicing teachers. Typically, these sessions should be shorter (25 minutes) presentations of successful classroom activities / course programs / professional development systems or longer (1 hour) workshop-style sessions that have a more interactive and hands-on approach.

Deadline for Proposals  -  25th September 2026

Proposal Decision Notifications -   31st October 2026

*Following the symposium, presenters are welcome to submit a paper version of their presentation to be considered for publication in the Teacher Development Proceedings. The Teacher Development Proceedings of previous events can be seen by looking at the pages of previous years.
